Groups are welcomed by a hostess on arrival at the Memorial.
Each member of the group is given a copy of the "History
Notebook" before beginning the self-guided visit

visit of the Pegasus Memorial
Ranville: self guided visit
The first village in France to be liberated on June 6th,
Ranville is home to the headquarters of the 6th Airborne.
The German soldiers and most of the paratroopers who fell
in this sector are buried in the Military Cemetery.
Bénouville - Ranville: guided visit
On June 6th, at one oclock in the morning, General
Gales 6th Airborne seized the bridges over the
Orne, including the famous Pegasus Bridge, and held
out against the Germans until reinforcements arrived
from Sword Beach.
Douvres-la-Délivrande: guided visit
An important German radar station, defended by 230 Luftwaffe
soldiers held out against the English and Canadian troops
for almost two weeks.
